Pretty Pink Style

Are you obsessed with pink as much as we are?  If you are, then you will love this pink-themed reading nook inspiration from Candice Paterra of @pretty.playful.styling that’s been featured in Modern Texas Living’s Playful Playrooms editorial.

We asked Candice what inspired her to create this pretty space and this is what she said:

“I have always had a love for vintage, obsession with stripes, polka dots and all things pink.  When I found out at 10 weeks (I’m such a planner I couldn’t wait, lol) I instantly had a vision in my head of a pretty, pink room for Lexi to grow up in.

I am more of a silver/ white gold girl so wanted to pair pink with grey and adding white to the combination was the perfect break between to the two.

I hand painted the stripes on the wall first and then started to fill the room with beautiful pieces. I came across the Lottie Rug by Ginger and Pear Gifts and it was instant love. It was like this rug had been made for Lexi’s room.

Now, I needed that essential piece that would transform the room and bring softness, texture and colour into the space so my hunt for the perfect canopy was on.

I fell in love with the spinkie canopies and especially the Dreamy Canopy. I loved how sheer it is, so it has that softness, and I love how full it is.  It really has a luxe feel, the only thing that I couldn’t decide on was the colour. I loved the light pink and I loved the blush… for weeks I went back and forth until I locked in the light pink and when it arrived, I knew it was the perfect choice.

I started filling the room with more beautiful pieces including artwork from Isla Dream Prints and also the whimsical wall. Rocky Mountain Decals were the perfect addition as was the pink butterfly cushion from Little Custom Creations.

Of course, no girls room would be complete without beautiful dolls, which I sourced through Tutu Irresistible and Miss and Master Online and dollhouse from Winnie Dot.

I love changing up Lexi’s space as we put new additions. I am always flipping the room. As a wedding planner on ‘eternity leave, lol’ one day I may go back to it but now I have my styling hat on to embrace the creative side of me. Both Lexi and my son love to copy me.  So many times, I see them placing pieces around the room, taking my phone and saying cheese to the dolls.

Growing up, I shared a room with my 3 sisters – 4 girls in one tiny room, so I think I am living vicariously through Lexi, but why not!  We spend lots of time playing, reading and rocking in her room and it certainly brings us all lots of joy when we look around at the magical space.”

Candice is not the only one who can create a magical space for her little princess. You can do it too! All you need is a little imagination and some amazing products that will never go out of style. We’ve made it easy for you to source this look. Simply check out the links below. 🙂
