Since the time we started our home quarantine, we’ve tried our best to do activities that engage kids and limit the use of media. They are on a two-week school break now on top of the home quarantine and it’s given me the challenge as I balance work I do for my home-based business as well. A very big thanks to books, activity kits, board games, pets and Joe Wicks who is turning out to be the children’s PE teacher! We are also lucky to have a patch of land where we have done some farming and planting with them every day. These have occupied a significant amount of our time together but the rest we must truly be creative about.
This week we set up The Dreamy Fort, our lightweight tent with a wonderful drape that you can install using four ceiling hooks and nylon line. The Dreamy Fort has been my children’s favorite tent because they can do storytelling and sleep under it and even set up little pretend parties inside it in their own room. I’ve invited my daughter Mayumi to help me style our party table and play.
There’s plenty of room to set up a little floor table underneath the Dreamy Fort shown here in Baby’s Breath. A crib or single mattress would be a perfect “table” for a party set up and use cushions and pillows as seats. We love using our Star Pillows in Charmeuse Silk because not only do they provide a lovely shimmer on our setting, they also are soft and smooth on children’s skin.
Play dress up and do invite cuddle buddies to the party like our dreamy Princess Sparkles and Little Unicorns. Now, everyone’s ready to play and chat.
