Every year, my children look forward to celebrating Halloween. Apart from trick or treating, it is truly a nostalgic event that brings people together. From the planning of costumes to the setting up of decorations, preparations leading up to the annual occasion allow everyone to challenge their creative expression. It’s one holiday that really focuses on the kids (and kids at heart too)! Halloween may look a little different in most parts of the world this year, but that does not mean we can’t make it special and something to look forward to for our little ones. After all, it is only once a year!
For this season, we chose to put together an uplifting Halloween set up starting off with colors that warm the heart such as pink, lilac, champagne, and mustard. We hung up Dreamy Canopies in Pale Rose, Light Pink, and Blush and placed floral decals by Ginger Monkey on the wall to brighten up the space. As we are celebrating indoors, we still want to capture the essence of outdoor sunshine.
To create a cozy and relaxed feel to the space, we placed a fuzzy area rug, brought out a low table and placed our Charmeuse Silk Star Pillows on the floor as cushions. Large Sparkle Poms add a whimsical touch. We also added pumpkins that we painted in our color scheme, and for something sweet, we baked a buttercream cake with little fondant pumpkins! Preparing these decors and cake are great activities you can do with your children.
This atmosphere is even more enjoyable in the company of new cuddly friends from our Wild at Heart collection – a collaboration with a dear friend and artist Narin Barnett of My Hidden Forest. We wanted to create a range of characters that capture the sunshine, the spirit of nature and wildlife, and sense of adventure while also using the imagery of animals to convey the personalities and values of children.
Meet our Wild at Heart soft toys: Sam Sloth, Bella Bunny, Teddy Bear, Gabi Giraffe and Patchi Dog. Each one is a character to love. We never want our little ones to lose the sight of wonder and imagination that the outdoors bring!
