Easter at Home with @thisloveandchaos

Intimate Easter celebrations in our own homes are ideal for many of us experiencing uncertain times in parts of the globe. It is a wonderful opportunity to create something magical with your children to brighten up their days at home. Let us remind them of what matters most in spite of circumstances—sharing unforgettable moments with family.

“Easter for us is always a family affair, with a build up over a few weeks usually involving some easter craft and decorating, and of course the traditional Easter egg hunt on Sunday morning”, shares Amanda of @thisloveandchaos. This week, she welcomes us into her home to learn about her newly refreshed space inspired by the spirit of Easter as she prepares for the much awaited celebration.

“I’m currently loving muted and neutral tones, with pops of timber and rattan to bring continuity between rooms and spaces”, shares Amanda, selecting a pastel color palette for her daughter Sophie’s room with muted shades of champagne pink and sage green. We love the selection of floral decals and playful art work she placed on the walls, echoing this joyful season.

When it comes to her approach to decorating a room as she did with Sophie’s, Amanda says it is “always centred around choosing a few really special pieces and building the space around those. A beautiful canopy, a special lamp, or some eye-catching wall decals are good base items to frame a room and build around. I’m learning that less is more – simplicity really helps to emphasize the feature pieces of a room”.

In this space, she placed our Dreamy Canopy in Champagne over the bed. This color is a mixture of light yellow, pink and orange. As a borderline neutral shade that she also used for some of her cushions, Champagne actually pairs well with a lot of colors and prints like those on the beddings.

“We usually collect a few little treasures each year, and have some special Easter themed things like beautiful Easter baskets, Easter egg cups and personalised Easter basket tags which we reuse each year. There’s something lovely about having some items which hold sentimental value as they’re brought out each year”, Amanda gushes.

This year, her children added our Bunny Princess in Pale Rose & Oyster to their collection of Easter trinkets, which are lovely keepsakes and also go beautifully in their rooms. To celebrate the upcoming occasion, Sophie wears Le Pom-pom Tutu Dress in White, and Alice wears Hailey Top in Sand and Riley Overalls in Terracotta from Spinkiewear.

We hope this uplifts your week and your lovely Easter celebration at home with your family!
