A Nursery to Welcome

Preparing a nursery for a baby-on-the-way can be overwhelming, but it should also be an exciting experience that can be planned in advance. New and expecting mums often reach out to us on how to start creating a space to celebrate a new season, as they welcome a little one in their home.

This week, we were inspired to create a space that brings to life the uplifting feeling of welcoming a newborn, ensuring the baby comes to a cozy, dreamy environment. When preparing for a baby, it is important to select an area dedicated to their needs, whether it be a room of their own or a special section within your own bedroom. In this space, we made sure to have a sleeping area in mind, as well as a breastfeeding corner that can also be used as a reading nook–eventually even a play area if you remove the armchair.

After selecting an area for your baby, an easy way to dress up a wall without having to repaint it is by placing decals on the wall. we chose these Stars and Moons by Sailah Lane for a festive look.

We hung up our Dreamy Canopy with Mini Pom Pom Garlands in White at one side of the space, then placed an arm chair underneath it for the breastfeeding and reading area. While your baby is sleeping, think of it as your own cozy nook for “me time” too. A Dreamy Bow Cushion serves as both an accent piece and an added touch of comfort.

It’s important for babies to cozy up with toys and cushions that are gentle on their skin. Our Charmeuse Silk Star Pillows are smooth and ideal infants, while Puppy Jr., Mr. Bear and Lady Doe are the perfect buddies for them to cuddle. To make this space extra magical, we wanted to recreate a dreamy visual of clouds through installations made of our Large Sparkle Poms and distributed them throughout the space.

We hope you enjoy this process, setting up your own Magical Spaces–ready to welcome and celebrate your newborns!
